Crafts from
seaside finds are really fun, inexpensive and will bring memories of a sunny beach to your family or classroom. Some of the most beautiful and precious items you can collect from the beach are empty clam shells. See, how you can trasform those shells into tiny boats.
Materials and tools:
- Seashells.
- Toothpicks.
- Play dough or plasticine.
- Colored paper.
- Scissors.
Instructions:
1. Find one or more large seashells.
2. Roll out a small play dough or plasticine ball. Turn the shell upside down and press the soft ball inside the shell.
3. Cut a tiny triangle of colored paper for the sail.
4. Using a toothpick make one hole at the bottom of the sail and one at the top. Slide the toothpick through the holes.

5. Stick the end of the toothpick in the play dough to hold it upright.
6. These boats can really float. Put them in a pan full of water, blow on their sails and let them race.
